Privacy notice

This notice explains how Lucas Cuello, trading as Luke’s Private Guitar & Piano Tuition, uses your personal information. I’m the controller of your information, and you can contact me at luke@lukesmusictuition.co.uk.

What I collect

• When you enquire: your name, your role if you’re arranging lessons for a family (for example nanny or PA), email address, phone number, how you’d like me to get in touch, your area, your answers about the learners (first name, age, instrument or subject, level, goals and times) and when you’d like to start, plus any question you ask and how you heard about me.
• When you send the form: your IP address, which the spam check sends to Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that a person sent it.
• Only if you choose to tell me: anything that helps a child learn best. The form doesn’t ask for health details or a diagnosis, and there’s no need to share them. If you mention anything like that, I use it only to plan lessons, and it’s deleted with the rest of your enquiry.
• When you message me: what you send by WhatsApp or email.
• When we work together: lesson arrangements and invoicing details.

Why I use it

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange lessons. These are steps you’ve asked me to take before we agree lessons, and then to deliver the lessons we agree (contract).
• To keep you on the waiting list, which is my legitimate interest in offering you a place when one comes up.
• To plan lessons around what you’ve told me helps a child learn, as part of arranging and giving the lessons you’ve asked for (contract).
• To keep financial records, which is a legal obligation.

Who helps me

• Cloudflare hosts this website, stores enquiries in its European data region, checks that the form is sent by a person (Turnstile), and gives me privacy-friendly visitor statistics without cookies.
• Google (Gmail) provides my email, and receives a copy of each enquiry.
• WhatsApp and Google Meet process what you share if you message me on WhatsApp or have online lessons on Google Meet.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. When they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires. I never sell your information or use it for advertising.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries that don’t lead to lessons: deleted after 12 months, including the copies in my inbox.
• Waiting-list entries: kept until you ask me to remove them, or for 12 months after we were last in touch.
• Lesson and invoicing records: kept for as long as tax law requires, usually six years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask me to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Just email me. I’ll acknowledge any concern about how I handle your information within 30 days.

If you’re not happy with my reply, you can complain to the Information Commission (formerly the ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use cookies for tracking or advertising, so there’s no cookie banner. Visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies. On the enquiry page, Cloudflare’s spam check may use strictly necessary security storage.
