Hello, I'm Luke
Teaching is one of my passions, and I love it. I've been a recording and performing musician for 24 years, I have a degree in music composition and education, and I've taught for 18 years, the last 10 of them privately in London. I also speak Spanish.
How a visit works
I arrive at your home at your regular weekly time. 
Piano with one child. 
Then guitar with their brother or sister, in the same visit. 
Before I go, we can record a short practice video on your phone.
Who I teach
Children from 4.
A course in five stages: music games, rhythm, technique, the songs they love, then theory and writing their own music. Piano from 4, guitar from 6.
Lessons for children →Teenagers.
Technique, songs and theory, and whatever excites them most, whether that's playing in a band, writing their own music or working towards exams.
Adults.
Complete beginners to advanced players. Rock, folk, funk, jazz or classical, built around the music you love.
- I have experience teaching neurodivergent children, and children who are anxious or didn't click with a previous teacher. I adapt the pace and approach until they feel comfortable and confident.
- Exam preparation for ABRSM, RSL and Trinity at any grade.
- I also teach bass guitar, oboe, and composition and songwriting.
- Teenagers and adults can have lessons online on Google Meet.

I am on my second year of piano lessons and loving it! I’ve learnt a lot and feel very comfortable in the classes. The exact fee depends on lesson length, needs and location, and I confirm it in writing before the first lesson. I usually invoice termly in advance by bank transfer, and I'm happy to be flexible.

Do you teach complete beginners?
Yes. I teach complete beginners to advanced players, from age 4 to adults.
Can brothers and sisters have lessons in the same visit?
Yes, back to back. Families with two or more children also get priority on the waiting list.
How much are lessons?
Lessons start from £50. The exact fee depends on lesson length, needs and location, and I'll confirm it in writing before the first lesson.
Discretion is part of the job. I never name the families I teach, and I'm happy to sign an NDA.
